Stamp Out Hunger food drive

  • *new* Serve Wenatchee warehouse (Lighthouse Christian Ministries) 410 South Columbia Street Wenatchee, WA, 98801 United States (map)

Each year, Serve Wenatchee receives half of all the food collected from the National Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.  The food we receive from this food drive helps supplement the food we purchase for our Fresh Hope Market.  Last year, we received over 17,000 lbs. of food!

Be the Difference: Volunteer for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Saturday, May 9

(Additional help may be needed Monday, May 11)

Hunger doesn’t take a day off — and neither does our community.

On Saturday, May 9, the National Letter carrier's annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive brings neighbors together to fight hunger on a massive scale. With thousands of pounds of food moving through our area in just one day, we need a strong, compassionate crew of volunteers to make it happen.

This is your chance to turn a few hours of sweat into real impact for families right here in our community.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Volunteers will play a critical role in getting food from mailboxes to families by helping with:

  • Unloading and weighing donations as mail carriers arrive

  • Sorting food into boxes so it can be distributed quickly and efficiently

  • Transporting food from the East Wenatchee drop point to our Wenatchee warehouse

  • Meeting mail carriers along their routes, transferring food into your personal vehicle, and delivering it to the drop point

  • Picking up donations from the USPS sorting facility and delivering them to the warehouse for weighing (potentially Monday)

Every box lifted. Every bag moved. Every action matters.

What to Expect

This is a hands‑on, physical volunteer opportunity that will include:

  • Working outdoors, rain or shine

  • Being on your feet and moving throughout the day

  • Lifting and carrying food donations

Volunteers should be comfortable with physical activity and able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Why It Matters

For someone facing hunger, these donations mean meals on the table, relief from stress, and dignity for their family. For you, it’s a chance to show up, work alongside neighbors, and be part of something bigger than yourself.

👉 If you’re ready to work hard, help others, and make a real difference in one single day, we need you.
